Luxembourg and Paris …

Friday I went to Luxembourg! It was an overnight Swiss flight so I got into the plane to took all of us from the Swiss airlines plane to Luxembourg airport. I met Divid, Ayala’s husband. We dropped off my luggage and went to the market, all the fruit and veggies and various other things were for sale. Divid and I sat outside in a cafe eating lunch … it was easy to get to know him. It was so beautiful the scenery, the market.

Ayala showed up from Sweden, she been visiting there. Eventually Sheila and Keven showed up in the car – I don’t know where they had been – Europe maybe. Divid had dinner ready and we ate while Sheila, Ayala and Kevin poured out stories of where they been in the life … eventually we, Kevin, Sheila and I to go a hotel.

Sunday was church for everybody and we went home for lunch. All of us went to ruined medical castle and all the sights of the market.

Wednesday, we packed up all of our stuff and went away from Luxembourg. It was raining and slowly the view went from the city to the French farm to Paris …

In Paris, we went to the Louvre. We all went everywhere. I saw – meeting at 7:00 pm for dinner.

A next day, I went to walk around Paris …

Friday I went to the flag football game. I’m wondering how the game can proceed! …”these football penalties are designed to teach youth players the important of respect and good sportsmanship” and they play rather well too, of course! Uzel (Ayala brother) is playing in Paris. There are teams, all different countries, all viving for the trophy.

On Saturday, I made it to Basilique du Sacre – Coeur de Montmartre. It went to Abbesses on the metro line 12, it is was 350 metres away, she they says … but they didn’t tell you the 167 steps up to Sacre Coeur, and it that a long-long-long way … that was a lot of stairs, it just kept coming … and coming … from the bottom of the hill to far up in the sky! I did it and the photos from to the top will prove I did it!

The church was empty in the there apart from a dozen people and mega white – everything’s was white so it had this peace to it …

I had dinner at Chez Plumeau, just down from the church. I had salmon, cucumber, avocado, tomatoes, curly stuff and rice. It was so-o good.

I made it down from the top, not on the path some people go on but a long and busy path with stores and residences on it, switching back and forth til the end, to where all the cars are!

Sunday morning we all were leaving at the same time, about 6:30am! So I packed my bags. The airport wait for us – Sheila and Kevin were going to Israel and me eventually going to Toronto. It took a lot of time to go to Toronto – 7 or 8 hours! It is twilight when I got home …

September 12th 2025

Well, I blew it. I haven’t written in so-o long … since May! I am determined to write again. In-between, I have been so busy with all the things – like doing bracelets for 100, walking and watching tv. (The bracelets only took 2 weeks but I had to figure it all out.) I didn’t write my book or do anything on the computer, as it was broken so I needed to get that fixed.

It was hot from May to August and indoors would be the reason for walking outside. It was nice now in September and we had dinner outside on September 6th at Allens!

Five Days in July 27 – 31

I’m copying the Blue Rodeo song “5 Days in May” … my days in July were good days! Saturday July 27th, St and I went to the ROM to see ‘Wild Cats” and we went out for dinner at Oretta Restaurant … it was great! And then we went to The Keg down the street.

On Sunday, four of us spent two and a half hours at Pantheous Greek restaurant on Danforth Avenue. We laughed a lot and ate desert!

On Monday, St and I went to Allen’s Restaurant and then we went to Noonan’s. They were having each person play two things and St was one of them.

Hirut Restaurant was Tuesday. We have a plate of food – Ethiopian Cuisine, “fresh ingredients to create flavourful dishes”. Then we heard Lorne Lofsky and David Occhipinti play jazz.

July 31, St and I have breakfast at Brick Farm and it was so good, eggs, spinach, onions and potatoes.

July 26th …

I was in Winnipeg/Kenora at July 11 to 16th and I had so much fun … just to talk to my sister and gaze out on the river/the lake, depending on where I was … and now I am back in Toronto and everything returns to normal!

Of course, I am spending time with the cats, I am taking care of them for a week while “the parents” are on vacation. It’s easy for me to take care of the kittens. I have a room upstairs and they can go upstairs and downstairs – there’s no dog! When I’m in the dining room using my computer, they’re quite close – one is on the cat mattress on the dining room table and one is sleeping on a chair.

When I’m watching tv, they move to the television in the living room … their quite happy, both of them!

It’s Summer!

It’s been summer since the end of May – only a couple of days it’s been raining and miserable but it hasn’t been below 26 degrees in the day … a little below that at night.

I was on the corner of Bremnar Blvd and Lower Simcoe Street at the Delta Hotel’s Soco Kitchen and Bar on Friday afternoon, with all the umbrellas outside. With such a lot of people here, a third of them are going to the Blue Jay’s baseball game at the Roger’s Centre and a third are just tourists. The last third of the people are Torontonians working in the Rogers Centre to Scotiabank Centre.

Little Italy, PowWow and Baseball Game …

I went out with Stv to the Little Italy thing on College Street between Bathurst Str and Shaw. Walking all the way and eating a sausage at the other end of Shaw Street. Had a wine at a little cafe a long the way and watched all the people going by!

The powwow was going on the Fort York. Stv bought a teeshirt and then we walked to Roncessvalles Avenue. The Loons pub where the golf game was on and continuing south on Roncessvalles, we had a nice dinner at Cafe Polonez. It makes really good snack for later!

Flowers!

The flowers are out! Its cold but its April and the flowers – daffodils, tulips, crocuses, tulip trees (Hellebrorus orientalist), forsythias, Shasta daisies, primrose and magnolia … a few more but I can’t think of them … come out! It reminds me of spring, summer and fall … all nice weather. And I want to get out in it!

Sunny Outside … but Cold!

I have got the “Ontario Living Wage” on the internet. It was 22.08 in 2021 and 23.15 in 2022 … that is a difference of 4.8% but in small town Ontario they’re only between $16.00 and $19.00 … they’re nowhere near $22 or $23! Its just a bit below the margin for living for me …

It’s sunny outside. The wind is blowing … such is life … LifeFocus.ca to be precise!

It’s the 20th of April …

and – oh – is it cold. I put on my shirt, my sweatshirt, my jeans, my SCARF and my hood was up … and it was still cold! The wind was rushing along so much that I couldn’t get to the subway and I turning and walked to the other subway with the wind behind me.

The shoemaker was there; he had just mended my sneakers – the heel on the left one was warn out but the right one was gone! So now they were perfect!

This is my LifeFocus (Red) image for here. The Red is for my blog. It goes in all kinds of directions out of one spot – the bottom – and spouts out to all different directions which is my blog!

When it comes to writing a blog, I go completely … and utterly blank. I will have to write down the blog before I use it – on paper and pencil and transfer it to my blog!
